Rules

1. Tournament rules

The teams are divided into groups of 4-6 teams with all teams playing against each other.

Teams are then placed according to points won.

  • 3 points for a win
  • 1 point for a tie
  • No points for a defeat

In the group stage, the ranking in each group is determined as follows:

1.Greatest number of points obtained in all group matches.
2.Goal difference in all group matches.
3.Greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.
4.Greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned.
5.Drawing lots.
There will finals and placement matches in all age groups.

NOTE: If there are age groups with different group sizes, the mutual pool rankings is determined as follows:

1.Average points per match.
2.Average goal difference per match.
3.Average number of goals scored per match.
4.Drawing lots.
Example: A total of 21 teams participate in a certain age group. The 21 teams are divided into five groups, of which there are four groups with four teams and one group with five teams. There are eight teams that advance to a final playoff with quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals. In the final playoff, the five best number 1’s advance together with the three best number 2’s. The three best number 2’s is found using the criteria above; average points per match, then average goal difference per match, then average number of goals scored per match, then drawing lots. For those teams that have not qualified for the final playoffs, there will be placement matches for all except the team that finishes fifth in the group with five teams. The same ranking as above applies to the placement matches.

The draw is made by the tournament administration. If the teams involved are not present, they will be notified of the draw results.

The Limone Cup is played according to the rules set down by FIFA and DBU with the following amendments:

1. Number of players:
In 11-a-side a team can use a maximum of 18 players in any given game and in 8-a-side a team can use a maximum of 13 players in any given game.
2. Substitution:
All players can be substituted in and out. The substitution of a player can take place when there is a stop in the game. The referee needs to be notified. The substitution must take place from the middle of the pitch. A player, being substituted, must leave the pitch before the new player enters the pitch. Incorrect substitutions will give a yellow card.
3. Ball size:
Each team must bring one football for each match; the first mentioned team in the match schedule brings the football to be used in the match. In the groups where the age groups are combined, it is possible that the teams play with different ball sized. In this case the games are played with the smallest ball size unless anything else is agreed between the teams.
4. Soccer jerseys:
Jerseys must be numbered and the numbers must be different. If both teams have the same colours the team mentioned last in the tournament plan will change jerseys.
5. Offside:
The offside rules do not apply in 8-a-side.
6. Linesmen:
In matches where no neutral linesmen are used the two teams are obliged to present their own linesman. The referee judge offsides, fouls, etc.
7. Extra players:
In 8-a-side, it is allowed to put in one extra player on the field, per three goals behind:
0-2 goals behind: 0 extra players on the pitch.
3-5 goals behind: 1 extra player on the pitch, for the team who is behind.
6-8 goals behind: 2 extra players on the pitch, for the team who is behind.
So it continues, for each three goals extra, the team who is behind, can put in an extra player.
